【摘要】:Thepuncture-propagationofteartestmeasurestheresistanceofamaterialtosnagging,ormoreprecisely,todynamicpunctureandpropagationofthatpunctureresultinginatear.Failuresduetosnaggingoccurinavarietyofenduses,includingindustrialbags,liners,andtarpaulins.TheunitsreportedinthistestmethodareNewtons(tearresistance).Experiencehasshownthatformanymaterialspuncturedoesnotcontributesignificantlytotheforcevaluedetermined,duetothesharpnessofthepropagatingprobeused.However,comparingtheresultsofprepuncturedtestspecimenswithnormalnonpuncturedspecimenswillgiveanindicationoftheextentofanypunctureresistanceinthereportedresult.Formanymaterials,theremaybeaspecificationthatrequirestheuseofthistestmethod,butwithsomeproceduralmodificationsthattakeprecedencewhenadheringtothespecification.Therefore,itisadvisabletorefertothatmaterialspecificationbeforeusingthistestmethod.Table1ofClassificationSystemD4000liststhecurrentASTMmaterialsstandards.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedynamictearresistanceofplasticfilmandthinsheetingsubjectedtoend-usesnagging-typehazards.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1ThereisnoequivalentISOtestmethod.
