【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestheminimumoperationalandperformancerequirementsandmethodsoftestingforECS.ECSsaredesignedoradaptedforuseasnavigationinformationsystemsonvesselsnotrequiredtocomplywithChapterVoftheInternationalConventionfortheSafetyofLifeatSea(SOLAS).Differenttypesofvessels,forexample,anon-SOLASpassengervessel,asmallfishingvesselorarecreationalvessel,whichoperateindifferentenvironments,needtobeequippedwithnavigationalsystemsprovidingfunctionalitytomeettheirneeds.IfthefullfunctionalityofECDISaccordingtoIEC61174isconsideredtobeunnecessary,ECSmaybesuitableforanavigationinformationsystemforthesevessels.GovernmentsmayconsiderrequiringthecarriageofECSforthesevesselsunderlocalarrangements.Inordertoprovideastandardthatcanbeusedtoapplydifferentlevelsofnavigationalfunctionality,threeclassesofECSaredefined.?Class“A”ECSaredesignedoradaptedforuseasaprimarynavigationinformationsystem.?Class“B”ECSaredesignedoradaptedforuseasanavigationinformationsystemwherelessnavigationalfunctionalityisrequiredthanClass“A”.?Class“C”ECSaredesignedoradaptedforuseasanavigationinformationsystemwithminimalfunctionalityintendedtoplotandmonitoravessel’sposition.WithinthisInternationalStandard,thebeginningofeachparagraphindicatestheapplicabilitytoECSClass(es).Paragraphsmarked“(ABC)”applytoallClasses;paragraphsmarked“(AB)”or“(BC)”applyonlytothosespecificcombinationsofClasses;andparagraphsmarked“(A)”,“(B)”or“(C)”applyonlytothoseindividualClasses.ForaClass“A”andClass“B”ECS,adequateback-uparrangementsmayberequiredtoensuresafenavigationintheeventofanECSfailure.ForaClass“A”ECS,anadditionalClass“A”ECSmaybeusedastheback-up.Alternatively,Class“B”ECSareintendedtomeettheminimumrequirementsforadequateback-uparrangementsforClass“A”ECS.ForaClass“B”ECS,anadditionalClass“B”ECSmaybeusedastheback-up.Class“C”ECSarenotintendedtomeettheminimumrequirementsforadequateback-uparrangementsforClass“A”orClass“B”ECS.GuidancefortestingECSisgiveninAnnexA.
