【摘要】:Thisisafire-test-responsestandard.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdeterminingtheburningbehaviorofmattressesusedinpublicoccupanciesbymeasuringspecificfiretestresponseswhenthetestspecimen,amattressormattresswithfoundation,issubjectedtoaspecifiedflamingignitionsourceunderwellventilatedconditions.Thisisatestmethodformattressesormattresseswithfoundations.Testdataareobtaineddescribingtheburningbehavior,followingapplicationofaspecificignitionsource,fromignitionuntilallburninghasceased,aperiodof1hhaselapsed,orflashoverappearsinevitable.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovideinformationonthefireperformanceofmattressesunderfireconditionsotherthanthosespecifiedinthistestmethod.Inparticular,thistestmethoddoesnotapplytosmolderingignitionbycigarettes.See5.12forfurtherinformation.Therateofheatreleaseofburningtestspecimenismeasuredbyanoxygenconsumptionmethod.See5.12.4forfurtherinformation.Othermeasurementsaretheproductionoflight-obscuringsmokeandtheconcentrationsofcertaintoxicgasspeciesinthecombustiongases.See5.12.5forfurtherinformation.Theburningbehaviorisdocumentedvisuallybyphotographicorvideorecordings.UsetheSIsystemofunitsinrefereedecisions;seeIEEE/ASTMSI-10.Theunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Thistestmethodmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
